A Complete Set of Fully Functioning Teeth

If you require replacements for an entire upper or lower arch of teeth, you may be a candidate for a revolutionary treatment called the All-on-4 treatment concept. Developed by Nobel Biocare, this treatment involves using four dental implant posts to support a fixed denture. This procedure frees you from the inconvenience of other solutions such as traditional dentures, which tend to slip out of place and are often not as comfortable as implant-based tooth restorations. Your new full-arch of teeth will be fixed in place, allowing you to enjoy eating the foods you like, speaking clearly and confidently, and smiling with joy.

Dental implants are the only tooth replacement option that prevents the jaw bone from deteriorating. Teeth roots stimulate the jaw bone during chewing. When a tooth is missing, the bone doesn’t receive stimulation and breaks down over time. This can result in severe bone repair surgery, dental shifting, and lead to overall poor oral health.

Like individual dental implants, full-arch restoration can prevent bone resorption and other oral health problems. During your consultation at Avon Oral, Facial and Dental Implant Surgery, you and your surgeon will decide if this is the right treatment option for you. Our offices are located in Avon, Glastonbury, and Enfield, CT.

Benefits of Full-Arch Restoration

All-on-4 treatment concept is a much more cost-effective and efficient solution than using multiple individual implants, but patients will still benefit from the stability and health benefits of having dental implants. Plus, the All-on-4 treatment concept reduces your healing time, allowing you to enjoy your new smile faster.

There are several significant benefits of full-arch restoration, including:

  • Less post-surgical discomfort, swelling, and healing time
  • Secure, non-removable replacement for multiple teeth
  • Only four implants are needed
  • Prevents bone loss and preserves your oral health

In most cases, you will receive a temporary set of teeth the day of your procedure. While you heal, your final teeth will be created, customized, and placed by your restorative dentist.

The Full-Arch Restoration Procedure

The All-on-4 treatment is a cooperative effort between you, your oral surgeon, and your restorative dentist. Your oral surgeon will create a unique treatment plan for your dental restoration based on our advanced diagnostic tools, your oral health condition, and your choice of anesthesia. Generally, this procedure is performed in the comfort of our surgical suites inside each of our offices.

Our office proudly offers EXPAREL®, the safe and long-lasting pain management option. It provides comfort following surgery and reduces or eliminates the need for narcotic medication. Learn more about EXPAREL.

Your surgeon will make a small incision in the gum tissue, then strategically place four dental implant posts beneath your gums. These implants will be the foundation for your full arch of custom-made teeth. A temporary denture will be placed while the implant sites heal.

Full recovery after dental implant surgery may take between 3 and 6 months because the implant must have time to successfully fuse with the bone in your jaw. During the healing process, your final set of replacement teeth will be customized by your restorative dentist. Once the healing process is complete, your dentist will place your final prosthesis. It will look and function just like healthy, natural teeth. You will be able to eat, speak, and smile confidently!
